Privacy Policy
Last updated: December 04, 2024
1. Introduction
At clicktoblur, we take your privacy seriously. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle your data when you use our Chrome Extension and website.
The core philosophy of clicktoblur is privacy by design. The extension runs locally on your device, and we do not collect, store, or transmit your personal browsing data, page content, or the information you choose to blur.
2. Data Collection
We DO NOT collect:
- Your browsing history
- The content of the websites you visit
- The text or images you blur
- Your personal information (name, email, etc.) inside the extension
We DO collect (via Lemon Squeezy):
When you purchase a license, our payment processor (Lemon Squeezy) collects:
- Email address (for license delivery)
- Payment information (processed securely by Lemon Squeezy)
- Billing address (for tax purposes)
3. License Verification
When you enter your license key in the extension, we send an API request to Lemon Squeezy to verify its validity. This request contains:
- Your License Key
- An instance name (e.g., "CensorWeb Extension")
This is the only time the extension communicates with an external server.
4. Permissions
The extension requires specific permissions to function:
- activeTab / All URLs: Required to inject the blurring script into the webpages you visit so you can select elements to hide.
- Storage: Used to save your license key and preferences (e.g., "Hide Emails" setting) locally on your browser.
- Scripting: Required to execute the code that modifies the page content (applying the blur effect).
5. Changes to This Policy
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page.
